Aug 4 2019 Metro Councilman Kramer to Host District 11 Town Hall Meeting at Jeffersontown Fire Station Two

Louisville, KY –Louisville Metro Councilman Kevin J. Kramer (District 11) will hold a district meeting on Monday, August 5, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at Jeffersontown Fire Station Two (formerly McMahan Firs Station), 4318 Taylorsville Road.

Councilman Kramer will be joined by representatives from the Louisville Metro Police Department, Jeffersontown Fire Protection District, Louisville Metro Public Works, Louisville Metro Codes & Regulations, Urban Forestry and Brightside.

Following weeks of conversations with Metro Councilmembers and the City of Middletown about potential alternative sites for the Middletown Library, the Library announced today it would reopen the branch in its former location in the East Government Center in September, as soon as materials can be transferred and staff for the location can be hired.

Aug 1 2019 Air Pollution Control District Proposed Permit

            The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to revise a FEDOOP operating permit for V.G. Reed & Sons, Inc. (lithographic printing and binding), 1002 South 12th Street, Louisville, KY 40210 in accordance with Regulation 2.17. This permit action removes the requirement to perform stack testing on VOC control devices. Also, this permit action removes the parts washer from the Insignificant Activity list and renamed IA3 emission unit to U3 emission unit, as this equipment is not an insignificant activity since it is not equipped with a secondary reservoir. This permit action additionally removes limits on greenhouse gases to comply with the U.S. Supreme Court’s June 2014 opinion in Utility Air Regulatory Group v. EPA.  The 30-day public comment period starts on August 2, 2019, and ends on September 2, 2019. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to revise a FEDOOP operating permit for Heaven Hill Distilleries – Bernheim Facility (distillery), 1701 West Breckenridge Street, Louisville, KY 40210 in accordance with Regulation 2.17. The revision incorporates equipment from a construction permit and removes an erroneous 5 tpy limit. The 30-day public comment period starts on August 2, 2019, and ends on September 3, 2019. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

Jul 30 2019 Public input sought on access to Dixie Highway

Louisville Metro Public Works will host a public open house on Thursday, August 8th to present the Dixie Highway Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Access Planning Study and collect public input on the preliminary planning for access from the four corridors listed below. This project is the next phase of implementing the New Dixie Highway that was funded by a 2015 TIGER Grant from the USDOT. The New Dixie Highway project improves safety, mobility and aesthetics for the corridor.

It won’t be long before students in Metro Louisville will be heading back to class and three Metro Council members are partnering with five local gyms to help in the effort to get students started off on the right foot. Council members David Yates (D-25), Rick Blackwell (D-12), and Cindi Fowler (D-14) are joining with the gyms to support a friendly competition to collect backpacks and school supplies before the first day of the coming school year.
